On May 14, 2022, in Buffalo, New York there a shooting killing ten black people occurred which was done as a hate crime. The 18-year-old suspect recorded his actions and posted them to several hate-filled forums such as 4-chan and commonly posted on discord (a popular chatting app), while also live-streaming the attack to streaming service twitch.

He has pleaded not guilty and is currently under watch, but the question is how did they get access to weapons? According to reports the suspect legally acquired the weapons without having to go through a thorough screening by a police department. in 2021 the suspect threatened to kill himself and others and as a result, got a psychological evaluation and was deemed not a danger after it was completed allowing him to purchase the weapons he used for the shooting.
