Utah is used to crazy weather and crazy snow, this past week has been an example of that. On January 9, 2024, Northern Utah experienced extreme winds and huge snow squalls that were not the last of this crazy weather. Moderate to severe snowfall is expected in many places on January 10 with more snow squalls we should expect this around 4-6 PM in West Valley City. This causes the National Weather Service to call a code blue.
A code blue is called when temperatures are expected to hit below 15 degrees. Homeless shelters will be taking people in all across the valley. Valley Overflow will be taking men and couples, and Valley Behavioral Health will be taking everyone. “Follow all the procedures to keep safe such as staying off the roads, driving safely, and making sure to stay warm” is the advice given.
