As a current AP student, here are my biggest tips for anybody taking an AP class now or next year.
Material
Keeping up with AP material can be a very challenging aspect from the test, to the DBQS [document-based questions] and the notes. It can be a bit overwhelming at times. My biggest tip for students taking an AP class is to have an assigned schedule. For example, I took notes in class and studied the course material on Wednesday, and then studied for any upcoming test two days before and the night before. This schedule kept me on my feet and I would recommend it to anybody who is taking an AP class.
Stress
Taking an AP class can be very stressful. I would recommend not stressing too much because at the end of the day, this test does not determine anything. And the people in your life will still be proud no matter what.
AP test
The AP test is one of the most stressful things as an AP student worrying that you will get a 1 is every student’s worst fear. I recently took my first AP test and it was nothing that I accepted yes it was challenging but it was a really good way to get my mind going. If you are nervous don’t be because this test will be nothing you expect and you will be okay.
In closing, AP classes are fun and prepare you for college effectively. If you are thinking about taking an AP class do it. You won’t regret it.
