I’m sure everyone is tired – at this point – from hearing about the long-awaited solar eclipse that is going on today. Although we won’t get to see if a full eclipse here in Utah we still got to see the moon cover nearly 50% of the sun. The Eclipse began around 11:22 AM and ended at 1:40 PM Mountain time. It seems as if the solar eclipse loves Mondays because the last solar eclipse we had here in North America happened back in 2017, Monday, August 21, which for most students attending schools in the Granite School District was the first day of school. Now the next solar eclipse was stated to not happen for another 20 years, August 23, which is not only a Tuesday, but also a solar eclipse that will shadow over only 3 states-Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
I hope that you guys wore your safety glasses to look at the eclipse because, as we have always been told, it is really dangerous for your eyesight to look up at the sun when a solar eclipse is going on, it may be really bright that you’d want to look at it but I assure you that it won’t be worth it. To the ones who missed it, there is always next time.
