The month of December is very busy with activities and school work here at Hunter High School, starting with the musicals we are doing. “The Little Mermaid” was delayed for two weeks and happened from November 30 through December 4.
The “Finding Nemo” musical, which is a musical that the special education department put together with help from students and teachers, has its opening night on December 7 and continues through December 8.
The Multicultural Assembly is on Friday, December 8. It is an AM assembly. This assembly is where many different groups perform a cultural dance. There will be many people doing a solo performance, too. The basic theme for the assembly is to represent your culture or dress like your culture. People are going to wear cultural attire and bring their flags and just represent not only their culture but their class.
Now on school work, there are many college application deadlines coming up and they are very important to stay on top of deadlines. FAFSA opens on the 30th of December. Today is December 6, and there is going to be about 2 weeks before Winter Break begins on December 22. This is the end of 2nd quarter plus the end of the first semester. At this time for many, things can be stressful with school work and other life stressors. So it’s important to take breaks and do things that can calm your mind.
