Earlier this year in September, the American Red Cross declared a national blood shortage. In August they collected “over 26,000 fewer blood donations than needed to meet the needs of patients”, reported Tiffany Taylor. She also commented that it is common for blood donations to plummet with the upcoming season and holidays. That’s why it’s important now more than ever to donate blood. A statistic by the American Red Cross shows that school blood drives account for about 25% of all donations (Pre-COVID-19).
On December 4th, Hunter High is hosting a blood drive. This is a great way for you to get involved with your community and help a human life.
