Boxing and a Hunter student

Andrew Solalindez loves the sport boxing. When he is training he is dialed and is focused in the moment. He boxes at the Reyes in West Valley City. He started boxing there in 2021. He says it is a great place to learn discipline and hold each other accountable. Andrew’s inspiration was Canelo Alvarez “Canelo had fought triple G and the fight was interesting to me. I started to watch highlights of his and started to gain interest in boxing and proceeded to start,” he said.

Andrew Solalindez’ boxing record is 0-0 but his first fight is going to be in December or January. He hopes to go professional in boxing and wants to make a career out of it. “The most memorable moment in the gym was the experienced boxers came to the gym and gave me tips on what I can do to get better and I took their advice into consideration because I want to be the best boxer,” he said. “Before training, I loosen up my body by doing some stretches so I won’t tear any muscles.” Andrew does a lot of cardio to help with his stamina. “Being able to last long in boxing has helped me a lot and I think I will be able to win my first match,” he said.
