Latinos in Action was created in 2001 by Dr. Jose Enriquez in Provo, Utah. It has grown to have over 130 classes all over the entire country, celebrating Hispanic culture and heritage and helping out the community in various ways every day. Latinos in Action – LIA – is a class here in Hunter High that inspires, has fun, and helps as a “familia of Latinos” like me and many others who walk the halls of Hunter High. They have made various events, especially their annual car show every spring here in Hunter High School, and even hosted the “Noche Buena” dance last winter where they focused on having fun, expressing Hispanic cultures, and having the King and Queens of the dance be Latinos. They have helped tutor many elementary school kids every year and have even cleaned the school of trash every now and then. LIA is a fun class to have at our school all thanks to their teacher Ms. Anderson and their LIA presidency.
