September 18, 2023, Hunter High School held a soccer tournament for our special ed students. Unified sports is when both special ed and general students are on the same team and compete against each other. There are two home teams, the Hunter team and the Wolverines. The Hunter team scored first place and our Wolverine team scored third place. Other Granite School District schools were also a part of this soccer tournament.
The schools that were a part of the tournament were Skyline High School, Murray High School, and Bingham High School. When Mr. Young was asked how it went he responded, ¨It went very well, I mean we did score first place.” There were many students who got out of class just to come and support the students. Mr. Young said that our standout students were Christian Zavala, Amber Mohamad, Whitney Rasmussen, and Dakota Boham. When these students were asked how they felt and how it went they said they felt happy, it went well, and that they couldn’t wait for the next game. Amber said her favorite thing about the whole experience was “kicking the ball and being goalie”. The standout students as well as the other students did a very good job. Most importantly they had fun and they can’t wait for the next tournaments. Hunter can’t wait to go out and show our support once more.
