Hunter High’s Speech and Debate team needs your help

Lilie Sanchez, Staff Writer

Hunter High’s Speech and Debate team has qualified students for this year’s National Tournament this summer in Louisville, Kentucky. But, they’ll need your help to get there.

According to Khristian N. Owens, Head Speech and Debate Coach, the school is currently selling oranges to help fund this trip for the students. She announced, “These are farm-fresh oranges picked just before they are shipped. Each box weighs 20lbs and contains between 40-44 oranges and costs $28.00. Buying 20 lbs. of oranges locally ranges from around $30.00 to $40.00 so, not only are you supporting the team but you’re also getting a deal.

You may think that these are too many oranges. A box of oranges can last up to 2 weeks at room temperature or longer if stored in cooler places. Over 2 weeks’ worth of oranges can provide a serving of fruit a day to a family of 4. Still, need a smaller amount? Split the box with a friend or neighbor.

Oranges not your thing? No Problem! Buy a box of oranges to be donated to the Utah Food Bank and support your community while supporting our Speech & Debate Team. When checking out online, under ‘Additional Information’ simply write ‘Utah Food Bank’ and we’ll take care of the rest.”

You can purchase your oranges directly from this link http://farmfreshfundraising.rallyup.com/hunterhsspeechanddebate or any Speech and Debate Team member.
