Listen up fellow Hunter High students! Here is something that we think some of you writers would be interested in. Sign up for an experience that you will for sure love, or put this on your calendar.

We hope you are enjoying, got to enjoy, or soon will enjoy your spring break. The Utah College Media Alliance, a collaboration of the college media advisers in this state, is sponsoring the Futures Awards again this year, and the deadline for writers submitting is coming up in less than two weeks, April 18.

We know students have done awesome work this year despite the challenges. See how it stacks up against the work of their peers across the state and vie for trophies and bragging rights. The Futures includes writing, visuals, video, podcasts, and COVID coverage (because we know you have done plenty of that). Click on this link to find the rules and the categories. Don’t forget that the deadline is April 18.

Then be sure to put May 19 at 7 p.m. on your calendar for the Futures Award Ceremony at the University of Utah Sorensen Student Union. It will be a celebration of student media after two very tough years.

We are excited to see students’ good work and to see you in person in May!
