Andre Ortiz, Staff Writer

Covid-19 was an international event that impacted every facet of life, most importantly the medical field of the world. Destani Ortiz is an RNA who works in West Valley City, Utah who gave a recap of the experience Covid has had in the workplace.

In the days following the pandemic, the number of cases at their workplace ranged from  30-40 a week with averaging 25 dead, and now being around 5 cases a week. The staffing at her workplace was extremely understaffed. Each nurse and CNA was being assigned 20 residents each with zero hazard pay and no wage increase for working in a situation such as this.
