Credit recovery

Elizabeth Poole, Staff Writer

There was an email sent out for the credit recovery at Hunter. Students are free to take packets home and you could get as many packets as are needed. They had tables sent up in the library with just a couple of staff there. They didn’t have many staff there, but they didn’t have many students, either. There was one other student other than me. I was surprised I have heard in the hallway people struggling with their grades; so I was expecting more people to show up.

There was a very nice lady helping me and making sure everyone got what they needed. The staff was understanding and it just took a little bit of information for students to get them. So it was really easy. They had so many packets and it was amazing to see how much Hunter really wants their students to succeed. I thought it was amazing. I was going to have to go to summer school and it was a lot better for me to do. I thought it was awesome that the staff and teachers did that for Hunter.

I did ask some questions like how long I had. They responded back to me and told me sooner the longer I had. I had about a week and a half which was a lot better than spending 6 weeks in summer school. But not everyone needs a credit recovery packet. I simply thought it was amazing how the school came together to do so for their students. This really shows how much Hunter cares. I’m very thankful for it. I think more students should take advantages like this more often ,especially if they need it.
