What I am learning

Elizabeth Poole, Staff Writer

I have been learning a lot. It has been crazy not going to school. Staying in the house so much more lately without school or friends being around is so different. Going outside makes me enjoy the things around me more. I have to be aware of my surroundings and what is around me. I want to go see my friends but know it’s safer to not be with them at this time. Which hasn’t been the easiest. I have learned to appreciate them more and give them their space when needed since they’re at home with their families. I have learned more about my family and what their schedules are like, but it has still been different that they can’t go to work, and are getting paid to stay home. Distancing seems to be hard for some people to do and I’ve noticed that people get way too close to each other. I can’t say I’m the best at this, so I don’t really go outside, but I’m glad that I am safe. There are so many different things that are being effected as some stores, plus schools were shut down, and it’s all new so it did take some getting used to. This is all really new and I hope we can get through it. Teachers are still having to reach out to their students and get their assignments in. They have been amazing and checking up on me and making sure everything isn’t too overwhelming with everything. The staff at Hunter were also being really careful making sure everyone stays safe and it makes you think about all the amazing things people will get out of their way to do. They really do show that there are some amazing people out there. I learned so much from amazing people who have helped the best they can to the little things. This has really shown me to look on the bright side of things.
