School shut down speculations

Hunter High school is currently closed until May 4th, 2020. This means our schools closure will last about 7 weeks. With the school planning to start back up Monday May 4th, that leaves the 2019-2020 school year with only 15 days left. Keeping this in mind parents have started to question the school board in starting back up.

Students have had to learn how to quickly adjust to online learning. With only 7 weeks to adjust their schedules, and get in this mindset, it seems kind of odd and unfair that we would have to start school again suddenly and for such a short amount of time. Students have complained and stated that they won’t even be motivated to work at school after virtually having time off from it. Making the students switch back and forth on their learning so often in such a short amount of time could damage a lot of things.

Some parents have said that they assume schools will be closed until the end of the year because of some other states that have closed. A few states that have announced this academic closure for the rest of the school year include, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Georgia, and Idaho. But that’s only to name a few.

As of right now Hunter High school is planning on having students attend school May 4th- May 22nd. Updates will come out as we get them but as for now good luck wolverines, and stay healthy.
