What is Super Tuesday and how does it affect our state and especially Hunter High? Super Tuesday is the day where multiple states hold their presidential primaries or caucus. Super Tuesday is one of the most important days for presidential candidates because of how man y people participate and vote on this day. Here in Utah we have a primary which is different than a caucus. A primary means that everybody can go to the ballot and vote for who they support in the next presidential election. A caucus is similar to this, but rather than being open to the public it is instead a private event in which party leaders and members meet to decide on who they support and what their positions on issues are.

This day started out as deal made between multiple states to hold their caucus or primary on the same day. Ever since 1984, this has been a significant event for the presidential race. Not all states do this either though, this is why it is important for us to know about it. Utah along with 14 other states will be in this Super Tuesday on March 3rd.
