Summer is closer than we think

Winter. Snow, and everything cold. Here in Utah temperatures often drop down to around 10 degrees during our winter months and most of us don’t like it. Everyone dreams of spring when it’s winter, and of summer and it’s spring. Most students and teachers are excited for summer because of the break, but for many of us it seems far away. It’s around the middle of February, which means we’ve been in school for six months, and we have three more to go. Students sometimes think that three months is a long time until we get out of school but in reality, it’s not.
For Hunter High the last day of the 2019-2020 school year is Friday, May 22. When you add that all up, that’s around 87 weekdays but 99 days exactly. Think about it. That’s really not a lot of time. That’s only 99 more days to get everything done that you need to get done to earn your credits, or maybe even graduate. If you’re a senior this year, the start of your new life is closer than you think. Whether that college, maybe you’re going to get a job, or maybe you’re just going to take a little break. Whatever it is, you have only 99 days to prepare for it.

Most students don’t enjoy being in school that much, but we have to be honest. All of us dream of these amazing summer plans, then when summer actually comes around none of us have the money. Maybe getting a part time job for 2 or 3 days a week could work well for most of us. We can spend the money swimming, going to lagoon, going to fairs, out to late night movies, and all those ice cream runs.
