Tribute to the Calabasas Crash members
January 28, 2020
On January 26, 2020 there was a helicopter crash that ended up killing nine individuals. Two of them being Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna Bryant. The families of these individuals are struggling enormously as they try to cope and get through the deaths of their loved ones. This entire incident has shaken up the world, along with the media. On Sunday, after I had initially woken up, my feed was filled with photos of Kobe and his daughter, as well as condolences to their family. So many different people have been touched, whether they were close to those in the accident or not. This being said, we should be sure to keep the families and friends of all of them within our minds and hearts. Especially because most of us truly have not had to go through something like this. I would also like to encourage everyone to please make sure that you always tell your family you love them, and always try to make sure that they know that to be true as well. (1)
I woke up on Sunday, January 26th, 2020 a little bit late. I went to Instagram and I saw the news report. Kobe Bryant had died. I begin to almost cry and at first I was confused. When he was playing I hated him, he always dominated the Jazz and it was exhausting. But then I realized, as a sports fan, I loved him, his work ethic, and his life outside of basketball and his love for his family and his life was cut short, terribly too short. As more news came out I discovered that his 13 year old daughter Gianna was also on the helicopter as well as seven other people, including two more 13 year olds. My eyes began to tear up again, it was a terrible, terrible tragedy. Nine people lost their lives too soon and will be deeply deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected by this tragedy. And all of those reading this, make sure you tell someone you love them, because you never know what tomorrow will bring. Once again, thoughts and prayers to all of those affected, you will be missed. (2)
