Louisiana State University just finished off one of the best seasons college football has ever seen, and they did it in a way that they have been doing it all year, domination. They found themselves down 17-7 in the second quarter. They lead 28-17 at halftime and didn’t look back winning by a score of 42-25. Joe Burrow had 463 yards and five touchdown tosses in the game. He capped off maybe the best season a quarterback has had this decade. He finished with 5,671 passing yards on the season, the third most all time, and 60 TD passes, the all time record. He finished out his college career in the best way possible and the NFL is his next venture.

LSU dominated Clemson in a way we haven’t seen people do to Clemson. They were out gained 628-394 total yards. The score doesn’t do LSU justice as they started out a little slow, but when they kick it into high, there is no stopping them, as we saw at the end of the first half. Their defense held Trevor Lawrence, Clemson’s QB, to less than 50% completion percentage, and Clemson running back Travis Etienne to just 78 rushing yards.

The question is how will LSU do next year. We know that Clemson will probably be the favorites once again as Lawrence and Etienne are both coming back and they will once again have a top recruiting class including the top overall recruit. LSU on the other hand is losing a lot of key pieces. They also lose defensive coordinator and passing game coordinator to other jobs. They will still have the Bayou legend Ed Orgeron as their head coach. Orgeron is known for his “Geaux Tigas” (Go tigers)  at the end of his interviews and is known for being a coach that everyone loves and plays hard for. Overall, if he can get his players to play to the best of their capabilities next year, the fall off won’t be as bad as some are predicting.

Overall, LSU finished off maybe the best season of the playoff era and Joe Burrow had maybe the best season (and easily playoffs) of all time. Clemson will be back, the question is will LSU? Only time will tell, in the mean time,Geuax Tigers.
