Gage Versteeg, Sports Editor

The boy’s basketball team finished yet another quarter of the games on their schedule so it is time for a quarterly report. The team went 2-4 in the six games yet again and are now 4-8 on the season. We had wins against Providence Hall and Mountain Crest. The losses were to Hillcrest, Roy, Green Canyon, and Skyridge. The two to Hillcrest and Roy were both very close games and came down to the end.

Darius Jackson led the team scoring wise with 13.6, including games of 19,18, and 16 during the six games. He is second on the team for the season 11.9 points per game for the whole season. Josh Harding scored 12.5 points per game during the six games. One game he made six threes and finished with 22 points. Scoring leader of the season DaiSean Cash scored 11.3 during the six and averages 12.9 on the season. Nate Suaste lead the team with 6.4 rebound per game. He had a game with 14 points and 17 rebounds against Providence Hall. He also leads the team with 7.3 for the whole season. Cash also lead the team with 2.3 assists per game and averages 1.8 on the season.

Overall, the six games could have gone better but the team is only 4-8. Region is pretty tight with no one really running away with it like in years past. If we keep playing good close games region could go very well. We play each team twice, once at home and once on the road, starting at Granger on January 9th.
