Freshman year self interview and advice

Melina Gutierrez, Staff Writer

I feel like my freshman year was going alright because I was doing good in class and getting there on time. Yet for some reason I started to go late and I was not wanting to go to class because some classes were getting harder and I would just give up. If I did end up going to class I wouldn’t do much in class, or I just wouldn’t try.
Now looking back at those days I was wrong for thinking that I would be able to pass some class or have a good citizenship. No, it really is just effecting me with the other classes I’m going to have and I will have to recover for those times I didn’t go or I didn’t do good on the test because without knowing what you had learned a year ago, you really won’t be able to pass or understand some things for the next year’s class.
I say that if you’re a freshman make up a plan or at least have a plan for what you are going to want to do. Get to class on time and if you don’t, ask the teacher for help. Don’t be scared or too shy to ask the teacher questions because they will be willing to help you out in order to pass their class. Also you could stay after school and do some work. And if you don’t have a computer at home, go to a library and do your work there. Never turn in your work late because that’s another thing that effected me as I wasn’t able to get all the credit for the assignment.
