University of Utah giving $2.5 million in scholarships

There’s no doubt that most students planning on attending college find money to be the biggest struggle. College is expensive, especially at a university. The University of Utah can cost up to $20,000, that is if you consider room and board. The university is one of the most expensive non-profit universities in Utah, so people who plan to go there struggle to get the money they need to attend.

Some students who are struggling to get the money are in luck. The University of Utah is giving away a total of $2.5 million in scholarships. These scholarships will give students a free 4 years of college. This scholarship won’t be available to just anyone, though. There are requirements for this scholarship, these being: 3.2 GPA or higher, must be a Utah resident, will start college as a freshman, and qualifies based on family income (less than $50k a year).

For the first two years, students will be awarded grants from the state, then for the third and fourth year, the University of Utah will pay. Students will be automatically considered for this scholarship when they apply to the university, no application will be required.
