Could high school be more like college

Almost every high school student has wanted to graduate as soon as possible and go to college. So we asked ourselves. Do we want to be all done with school and grow up? Or do we just wish high school had more of a college atmosphere? Not many knew the answer to this question. Some wish they could be studying their dream job, some wish that high school was as laid back as college, and some are just fine where they are.

Most students just want something that seems very simple. For high school to be more like college. Students here at Hunter high wish that tardies and absence’s didn’t count. Not many students love that their parents are called every time they miss a class, and when we ask if they want high school more like college we mainly get yes’s. Changing the high school atmosphere would help students so much in many ways.

Teachers here have a hard time with keeping their classes nice and keeping every thing on track because of the few students that make their lives just a little harder. Students who don’t want to go to class make that very known, they disrupt the class, they don’t do their work, and overall they just don’t care. In college every thing you do depends on you, not your teachers, and not your parents. If you have an 8:00 am class and you don’t go, then that’s on you. Your parents won’t be called, and the only consequence you have is wasting your money, and missing out on some important stuff.

Students wish that high school was more like college because they want the freedom that college students have. Some agree with the fact that they think high school students are ready for this and some may not. Although most of us wish it was actually like this, we all know that it will not be changing anytime soon, if ever.
