Newsies the musical

Have you heard about the Newsies musical that is coming up at Hunter High? The play is going to begin on November 21st through November 25. The duration of the play will be approximately 2 hours long. Ticket cost will be $7 for students, $8 for seniors, and adults is $19. The play is going to be in the auditorium. Some information is the play was created by Disney and the Newsies musical is about newspaper boys being treated unfairly and how the publisher of the New York World, Joseph Pulitzer, increases the price of the newspapers to the delivery boys, so as to outsell his competitors. And its also about a character named Jack Kelly that has a dreams to be an artist and away from the big city. In fact, they got the inspiration by the real life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City. According to Jason Hunt the one that plays an extra says, “working with the set was pretty easy and nice.” And according to Xander Hechtle the one that plays Les, “it was fun meeting new people” The part was chosen for him by Ms. Parkes. To prepare for the opening night the crew has to rehearse. “We rehearse in different groups and after we put it all together to create the play” according to Jason Hunt. The Newsies set is almost finished in the auditorium. Don’t forget to come Newsies. The crew put in a lot of work into this musical.
