Halloween

Halloween

Halloween for students of all ages is typically a very anticipated holiday filled with sweets, laughter, fear, and fun. This year however Halloween fell short when it came to festivities and traditional celebrations. “Spooky Season” wasn’t so spooky this year, in fact it could be considered boring. At first the blame was put on everyone growing older and less people participating, but then even little kids were missing out on Halloween. Households everywhere are claiming to have tons of candy left over due to lack of trick or treaters. The weather on Halloween could’ve been a contributing factor because it was a chilly evening some might even say it was freezing. This year in general however felt as if the spirit of Halloween didn’t exist this year. Very few houses were decorated or even remotely welcoming for trick or treaters. An annual tradition felt as if it had died and lacked support from both children and parents. Of the few kids who were out that night, most were being transported house to house to go ask for candy rather than taking a typical walk through the neighborhood. A childhood tradition seems to be coming to an end, but there’s still hope for next year and hopefully better weather in order to produce memories to last kids a lifetime.
