Depression video

Elizabeth Poole, Staff Writer

A depression video was sent to every teacher and was shown in class on Tuesday, October 29. The video was about 10 minutes long, and it was a great video overall but generally, I didn’t like the video. I know some friends that struggle with depression but don’t like talking about it. I know it could help a lot of people, but I think they should of asked the students or even their parents for permission to view this video. There really should have been a permission slip. I wouldn’t want anyone to have to go threw that alone or even lie about there depression. From my experiments they don’t know where to go or where to start. Feeling like no ones there for you through the hardest times. Depression is one of the worst things that I have seen from someone. Being there for someone is what we should learn about, being there for that person, letting them know that everything will be all right. You never know when that person will disappear or if the person may cover up their true feelings with a lie and not actually open up to tell you what’s going on. That is probably the scariest part of depression. This video should of had put a lot of thought into it for those reasons so this will help bad situations from happening. This video could help a lot of people, don’t get me wrong, however it’s something that should have been taken more seriously while those facts in mind. This was a great example for a lot of people on how to open up to others about their issues because lot of people in the United States struggle with depression. Please, if you are dealing with anything, reach out for help. You are loved and people care for you, and you are wanted.
