Sadie’s dance
October 22, 2019
This year Hunter High will be hosting it’s annual Sadie Hawkins dance. Ladies get your best dresses and shoes because this dance it’s your turn to ask the guys. The dance will be on November 2, and will be held from 5-10:30 PM. Tickets will be sold this week during both lunches for $10 for a single ticket and $20 for two.
This specific dance is known by many names around the country, but it’s still the same thing in every state. It’s traditional because this dance is based off a strip character named Sadie Hawkins that instead of waiting for a man to ask her to dance, she asked a man to dance. Ever since this character was introduced to us in 1937 by Al Capp, this dance was created and the states adopted it.
This year the theme seems to be “OUT OF THIS WORLD”, we recommend you follow the dress code for the dance. We have to thank Hunter High Dance Company for letting us have this dance. The dance will be in the Commons.
