Real Salt Lake ended the 2019 regular season in 3rd place in the western conference. This matched them up in the first round of the playoffs versus the Portland Timbers, who were in 6th place. Opening the second half, Portland had tied it 1-1 by the 47th minute. Later, at the 87th minute, Jefferson Savarino had made another goal, causing the match to end 2-1. On Wednesday, October 22, RSL will go against the Seattle Sounders. If RSL beats the Seattle Sounders on Wednesday night, then they will move on to play the winner of LAFC and LA Galaxy.
