School wide suicide prevention and mental health night

Colby Hayden, Staff Writer

October 29th our school will be having a ‘School Wide Suicide Prevention’ day, where in class you will be taking an hour and 30 minutes to talk about this subject. That following week November 5th the school will be having ‘Mental Health Night’. The mental health night will be taking place in the schools media center at 6:00 P.M. This will also only be taking an hour and a half. Suicide and mental health are very important subject, it something that shouldn’t go over looked and is something we should really discuss a bit more often. Many people suffer from suicidal thoughts and/or mental issues, bringing this out more could help more teens come out and speak out to therapists about their emotions, to hopefully help them get help. Having someone there for you is a necessary thing that you need in life, there are a lot of things that we can’t go through alone. Well maybe you can but it would be difficult and having someone with you could help you a lot. Please, if you are feeling down or anything, don’t be afraid to reach out for help. You don’t have to be ashamed for having normal human feelings.
