AP classes inclusivity

Recently Hunter High School set aside a time for all students to take their EOS survey, a survey asking questions about AP courses. These were to help encourage students to take AP courses and to let them know that AP classes are available to everyone. AP classes can be a great opportunity for students to have a college like experience and discover new interests. While AP classes are available to everyone, you want to make sure it’s the best choice for you. The purpose of these challenging courses is to help provide and in depth and detailed education of a certain course. They also offer the opportunity for you to earn college credit while in high school, if you pass the final test given at the end of the year. AP teachers work hard to make sure you are prepared for that test by prepping you all year for that important test. Take AP classes that you know will work for you, ones that will benefit you and not be a waste of time. For example, if you are good at math you can take that one step further and take an AP course dealing with math so it challenges you even further. AP courses can prove to be extremely difficult but that doesn’t make them impossible because throughout the course you can develop time management and self study skills. However AP classes can have some downsides, such as becoming far too overwhelming and not allowing you to focus on your other courses as well, that’s when you need to decide if it something worth taking and if you may need to alter your schedule. The goal is to challenge yourself without overwhelming yourself.
