Suicide prevention

Suicide has become more and more common within teens  in Utah. Utah has the 5th highest suicide rate for teens in the country. So, the question is, what are schools and the public system going to do about this? The schools have started having a suicide prevention assembly once a year to educate others for warning signs that not very many people tend to notice when it comes to others. In all reality though, is this really helping teens out? If this was helping then teen suicide wouldn’t be on the rise. This is still a step in the right direction and getting the message out at least. On October 29, 2019 Hunter high school will have the yearly suicide prevention assembly. Everyone who attends will find out what the warning signs are and how to go about helping someone get through this tough time.
