Blood drive

Sofia Rocha, Staff Writer

Hunter High students are participating in a blood drive to help out hospitals. Many students have signed to donate blood to their local hospital. Kiwi Tuivaiti, SBO president, was recently interviewed. When asked about what made him decide to start a blood drive here at Hunter, he responded with, “I want to help people,” which seemed to be a sweet answer. When asked about what he thinks of those generous students who are donating blood this year, he responded, “I want to show people how big of a heart Hunter High has,” he said. A final question was asked if he had ever donated blood before. “Yes, my mom has a blood disease, and I want to help out people so that they don’t go through the same thing as my mom.”

There is a certain goal that he wants to achieve this year, considering that last year there where about 150 people who donated blood. Kiwi wants to at least get 3oo people to donate blood this year. Our hope is that his goal gets reached and that everybody who’s donating blood to know that what they’re doing is really generous of them. The blood is going to those people who are in desperate need of it, what these Hunter High students is really kind of them to help people who don’t have what they do. After stating why he wanted to donate blood, my heart swelled. Not many people would do what our sweet SBO president is doing, but if you are seriously considering donating blood, please do. There are people in need of it, families who are afraid of losing a loved one. Schedule an appointment and go to the media center. This will happen on Monday, October 7, 2019 from 8:30 to 1:30.
