Hunter’s blood drive
October 4, 2019
Hunter High students are showing how amazing and kind people can be. Hunter established a blood drive to donate blood to their local hospitals. Last year 150 Hunter students donated blood. This year’s current SBO president Kiwi Tuivaiti stated, ” My goal is to get at least 300 students to donate.” This is an incredible goal; let’s just hope this year more students will be donating. Tuivaiti was recently interviewed and asked about why he decided to help with the blood drive, ” I want to help people with the types of diseases and conditions that need blood.”. He has shown the students at Hunter that anybody can have a big heart just like him, we just have to look deeper inside of themselves.
In response to be asked if he ever donated blood before, “Yes, I donated last year,” he also answered with the sweetest smile and explained “I did it for my mom who has a blood disease and it encouraged me to help others”. This response was so sweet and generous it hearts were melted when he stated his reason for donating. With the happiest look, he explained what he feels about students donating. “This makes me happy and shows how many of the students care and have a huge heart”. We sometimes don’t notice what is actually happening in our peers’ lives, but what our SBO president had to say and did, this should everyone have hope that there are good people in the world including generous Hunter High students.
