Hunter sinks Bonneville

To open the football season up Hunter traveled up to Washington Terrace to play the Bonneville High School Lakers. They won by a score of 27-21 and scored 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. They start the season off 1-0 and take on Clearfield next week.

Quarterback Daisean Cash completed 22 of 37 passes for 184 yards with two touchdowns (TD) and one interception (INT). He also ran for 34 yards on eight carries. The rest of the running game was fairly balanced between Jordan Tupea and Saia Lomu. Tupea had 120 yards on 12 carries, or ten yards per carry, he also ran for a TD. Lomu had 67 yards on 16 carries also with a TD. Eight different receivers each caught a pass. Nate Suaste lead all receivers with 71 yards on four catches and had both TD catches. Wyatt Swanty had six catches for 53 yards. Antony Garcia had four catches for 17 yards and Taylor Savage had three catches for eight yards. Saia Lomu and Jordan Tupea each had two catches for seven and 20 yards respectively. Dallas Brown and Xander Hill both had a single catch for four and 13 yards. On the defensive side of the football, there were no recorded sacks or tackles. Clayton Spotten had an interception and returned it for 25 yards before being stopped.

In Week two Hunter will take on Clearfield in another non-region game.
