Doug Baldwin retirement
May 17, 2019
Late on Sunday wide receiver Doug Baldwin let Seattle fans know that he will no longer be playing football. He wasn’t issued a new contract and was let go from the team. He then let out some tweets that left a lot of people in their feelings “My match has ended.”
Baldwin was only 30 years of age and was “un”drafted to Seattle in in 2011, but very quickly became a white-out in 2013 helping the Seahawks get a huge victory over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII. Baldwin is top three in Seattle’s all time receiving leaders, and in my opinion is the NFL’s most underrated wide receiver. A lot of his teammates showed their appreciation on social media especially his quarterback Russell Wilson sharing a lot a heart warming pictures and letting Doug know that he appreciated everything he has done for the team. “It was an honor to take the field with you. Greatest competitor I’ve ever known… Mr. …always open… grateful for who you are as a player, teammate and man. Thanks.”
