Truancy
April 5, 2019
Would you like to go to court; if not then you might want to listen now. If you are not in class or you do not have a hall pass while out in the halls you will be suspended and may even be taken to truancy court. You all should know by know that there are consequences for sluffing anyway, now it can cost you your future, more so than missing class and getting a bad grade.
If you have hopes of going to college and you are suspended and taken to truancy court, I’m sure that you can kiss that dream goodbye. If you are out in the halls you need to be sure that you have permission to be there and you have proof, in this case proof would be a hall pass, journalism pass if you have journalism, or a note from your teacher permitting you to be out of class. The only other acceptable reason for you to be out in the halls without a note is if you had something going on so you are just barely getting to school and you are heading directly to class. And in that case, if you are stopped by administrators, you need to stop and explain exactly what is going on. If you are told by an administrator to stop you MUST stop, do not try to run. No matter the circumstances you must stop and be 100% honest when they ask you what you are doing.
