Negative effects of eating chips

Chloe Koons, Staff Writer

Chips are high in fat and cholesterol which can cause weight gain over time. They have low vitamins and minerals, which can lead to poor nutrition. You are also at risk of a heart attack and high blood pressure due to the high sodium. They are very high in calories.

Certain chips like hot Cheetos and other spicy chips can damage the lining of your stomach and can cause pain in your abdomen. They cause nausea, and even lead to vomiting. Some healthy alternatives may be baked potato chips or tortilla chips, which both are a bit healthier. Getting vegetable chips may also be better, as well as ones that are specifically low fat and sodium.
