Honors classes
November 7, 2018
Honors classes are a good way to be challenged without being extremely challenged like AP. In honors classes the material is pretty similar to regular classes except you move at a faster pace and the work is harder than the regular classes. There is absolutely no shame in taking regular classes, just some people need more difficult work and a challenge that is not provided to them with regular classes. If honors is something you are interested in doing then you definitely should, although you will have to try harder and pay more attention it is a good idea and no where near as hard as an AP class. If you take an honors class it is a good idea to make sure you have a planner or sticky notes that you can write important dates on, and this is true with all classes.
You will also have more homework in an honors class than you would in a regular class. Sometimes it depends on the class, but more often than not, you will have homework for an honors class. Plus it will have to be done by the time the next class rolls around. You won’t find yourself saying, “I did not get it done, can I turn it in next time?” You need to be sure you get it done otherwise you will end up lost and not do as well on the tests and quizzes you are given. If you do not get your homework done, you could end up lost and behind as the class might move on to harder or different things by the time the next class rolls around.
