Do you like Hunter’s school environment? Do you like the classrooms, teachers, and students? Hunter High School seems to be a safe and accepting environment. There are some things we could do without, and some things we could have more of. Some of the classrooms here should be bigger and more open, especially the core classes. Most of my core classes are packed full of students, so it would be more convenient if the classrooms could be bigger and more roomy for us. On the other hand, most teachers probably wouldn’t want bigger classrooms because that would mean extra students and that would put more stress on them.

The teachers here at Hunter are fantastic. “I haven’t met a teacher her at Hunter that I didn’t like. I think that if you treat them with respect then they will do the same for you” exclaimed Alexis Riggs. Hunter High has great teachers. They are all incredibly sweet and accepting and I agree that if you give your teachers respect they will most definitely do the same for you in return. They want us to have a good education. They are trying their best to help us as much as they can, we just need to put in our effort as well. Some teachers do expect us to be excellent students, and we aren’t. Some teachers give us a lot of homework and they treat us like we are in college, which can be useful because it gets us ready which is fine. Jasmine Anderson noted, “We already have 7 other classes that give homework and some students have sports they do after school which is hard when it comes to keeping their grades up.”

The students here should be more friendly. We as students should help motivate each other and help each other out when needed. Most of the people that I have met here at Hunter have been incredibly sweet and fun to get to know but there is also that handful of students that just don’t know how to be nice. We should be more respectful to one another. Another thing we as students should have is more time off. Having to get up super early in the morning, get ready and be here at 7:30 a.m. can be hard. It is especially hard for those students that stay up super late. Hunter High school is a pretty good environment and system overall, there are some things that could be different and some things that are just perfect.
