Being considerate of the custodial staff
March 12, 2018
Have you noticed how much garbage and papers get left all over the school. How often people are just throwing things around. Well people should start thinking about what that does for the custodians that are here at Hunter high helping us keep our school clean. They stay after school everyday for hours cleaning up messes that they didn’t even make.
They might get paid to do it, but if you think about it. They probably aren’t getting paid very much. They don’t get paid for how much garbage they pick up. So why make it such a mess. We as high schoolers should know by now how to pick up after ourselves. We are young adults, and we definitely shouldn’t be leaving our messes for somebody else to pick up.
Your parents may do that for you at home, but our custodians shouldn’t have to do that for you here. Be responsible and pick up your garbage if you drop something. If you see that somebody else has dropped something, or they leave something on the ground. Be the bigger person and pick it up. The custodians have families too, they want to get home to their families just as much as you do, or even as much as you want to go hangout with your friends. They shouldn’t have to stay at the school all night picking up all of the garbage, when it wasn’t their mess in the first place.
