GSD getting families involved

Kalissa Kennedy, staff writer

Granite School District has been building our student/family/staff community and this week they have taken the next step. They are holding a free Parent Empowerment Night on Monday March 5. It will be held at Taylorsville High School. All parents are invited. For the first 200 parents/guardians there will be a free dinner. Come and experience workshops to help you and your students grow. They will be discussing many topics that relate to both you and your student.

They will be going over topics such as, college and career readiness, student engagement and attendance, bullying prevention, internet and smart phone safety, mental health issues, preventing child abuse, making sense of student assessment, parent involvement, substance abuse prevention, and so much more. They are really working towards a great school district.

Consider attending the workshops. They will be a great way for parents and your students to grow and learn together, share the newly found knowledge, and keep everyone safe. It will be a great way to stay involved with your student’s education, and life.
