New Jazz man Jae Crowder #99 hugs new teammates following a win

It was Wednesday January 24 and the Jazz were about to play the Detroit Pistons. They had a record of 19-28, nowhere near the playoffs. The Jazz won in overtime 98-95, and that was only the beginning. They went on to win 9 more and currently sit at 29-28, one and a half games back of the eight and final playoff seed, and three and a half from the fifth seed. A year that has had its ups and downs is now looking like its going up with no slowing down.

Of the 10 wins, six of them have come to teams currently in a playoff spot. Those teams are the: Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs (twice), New Orleans Pelicans, and Portland Trailblazers. The Raptors and Warriors are top seeds in their respective conferences. The Jazz have had a knack for beating top teams in the league this year, they have beaten four of the current top five in the league.

The Utah Jazz beat the Phoenix Suns 107 – 97 February 14. They have a good chance of the streak reaching 13 games as the next two are against the Portland Trailblazers and the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks are of the worst teams (and we have already beaten Portland during the streak.) The two after that are against the Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves, both are in the top four in the Western Conference. Besides that its a pretty easy schedule until late March. From then till the end of the season they have a tough schedule that will test them.

In Los Angeles for All-Star Weekend, Donovan Mitchell won the dunk contest. Go Jazz.
