Did you know that the average life expectancy in the United States is 78.74 years? It’s crazy to think that the nation that invented McDonald’s, and obesity would have such a high life expectancy rate, but it isn’t the highest, and it’s definitely not the lowest. An average life expectancy can be determined by how medically advanced a country is, or how healthy its citizens are. It also can be determined by how rich, or poor that country’s GDP per capita is, as well as how the political leader of that country decides to rule his country. Here is the list off some of the best and worst countries for life expectancy.
The best countries for life expectancy include: Japan- 83.7 Switzerland- 83.4 Singapore- 83.1 Australia- 82.8 Spain- 82.8
The worst countries for life expectancy include:
Côte d’Ivoire- 53.3 Chad- 53.1 CAR (Central Africa Republic)- 52.4 Angola- 52.5 Sierra Leone- 50.1
There is a pattern. A lot of the high life expectancy rated countries are either in Europe and Asia because that’s where the more wealthy and up-to-date countries are. The lower life expectancy countries are in the continent of Africa. Northern and sub-Saharan African countries are generally poor. They don’t have the funding or technology to acquire modern medicines to cure diseases that are easily cured with medicine today. Some countries are simply more fortunate to be advanced, while other countries have not even hit their industrial revolution stride yet.
