Track and field

May 3, 2019

Due to harsh weather conditions a lot of sports recently have been cancelled, however, it seems to be clearing up. Thursday, May 2, the track team had a very successful performance at the Davis Invitational. We had a large number of people who made very impressive places in the competition. Congratulations to Ola Lapuaho for qualifying in state in the shot put. Daisean Cash, Mason Familiar, Dylan Andrew, and Niki Taukiaho also qualified in the 4 by 100 meter relay, so congratulations to them as well. Lastly, Laila Spring, Gabby Jessop, Emma Taylor, and Margarita Morales set a new school record in the 4 by 800 meter relay, so congratulations to them as well. Our track team has done very well this year, so good job for all the hard work.

Come support them at their upcoming meetings before school ends, at the last meet on May 21 at the Banquet at 6 PM. There are also a few more upcoming meets on May 9 and 10 for region 2 championships at Granger at 3:30, as well as on may 13 at Kearns for region JV championships, which is for anyone who does not go to the region championship. The state championships will be at BYU on May 16 and 18 at 8  PM, so come support. There are only a few meets left, so be sure to come see them soon if you want to watch.
