Hunter boy’s basketball fourth quarter season report

Gage Versteeg, Sports Editor

The boy’s team have finished their regular season and now is time for the playoffs but first a recap of the last five games. We went 1-4 in the final five games. We had a win over Kearns and losses to Granger, West Jordan, Cyprus, and Taylorsville. We finished the season at 6-16. We finshed 2-8 in region play and fifth in region.

Daisean Cash averaged 17.5 points in four games (there weren’t any stats for the Cyprus game) including 19 against Granger and Taylorsville. Darius Jackson was second during the stretch with 8.25 per game. Darius Henderson, Josh Harding, and Jeremiah Wagstaff all had solid runs with  7.5, 6.5, and 6.25 points per game respectively. Rebounding was a committee of just about everyone getting a few a game with the leaders being Darius Jackson with six per game and Daisean Cash getting 5.25 per game.

The season is now over and we have the playoffs to look forward to. Like just about every team sport they are using a new RPI that will rank everyone in 6A best to last and everyone will make the playoffs. We got the 24th-seed and play ninth-seeded Westlake Thunder at Westlake on Wednesday, February 19th. Let’s go and have an a great game and maybe even sneak by with a little upset.
