Internet privacy and how it affects you

Carlos Whitmer and Agustin Mariscal

Wherever you go on to the internet and social media, you data for those interactions is stored. Now, this data can be different, some of it can be the things that you browse and the type of things that you like. This is mostly used for advertising and trying to get the best ads targeted towards you depending on your profile made with you data. Sometimes this information can be used wrongfully by people, an example of this would be strangers being able to access your personal information such as your credit score, address, etc.

This is why we need to be careful when we are using the internet. We always have to think about how someone getting this information could affect us. We also have to make sure that we do not disclose this information even if you believe that only the people you want to see it are the only ones that will view it. Another important thing to remember is that once something is on the internet then it can be very difficult to scrub and get rid of it completely since people are always sharing and spreading it to new places.

The internet is a place where you always have to be careful and you should always remember the people that see the information that you share. While there are many people that share a lot of their life details, you should always have some level of filter on what you post in order to make sure that your info stays in your hands and that someone does not hurt you because you did not take the proper precautions to protect yourself.
