End of the decade

2019 is almost over, and that means another decade has come to an end. The 2010’s are going to be a decade to remember. So many things have come and gone like the Angry Birds game everybody was obsessed with in 2012, or Cut The Rope. This decade brought many great things and it’s sad to see it’s come to an end but it’s better to remember all the great things that happened through out the years. In 2010, the first Ipad came out and in 2011, the now famous boy band, One Direction was formed by Simon Cowell. 2019 was the year that everyone grew, the year that everyone realized that all of us are growing up, people will graduate high school and move on with their lives, some people started a new chapter of their life, and for some it’s the fear of change that scares them because there’s some things or memories they don’t want to let go of. There can be several reasons why some don’t want the decade to end but once they took a look at the new things 2020 can bring, maybe, just maybe will they know that sometimes change can be a good thing. Just how this decade gave us the first Ipad and the many social media apps that almost everyone has now days. From the dog filter to listening to Ariana Grande, so many trends have come and go and pop culture grew. Who can forget when Marvel Studios gave us “Avengers: Infinity War” and left everyone on a cliffhanger? Or when “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee was viral in 2017? We can’t forget the many artists that rose to fame in this decade, like Ariana Grande who started out by acting on the Nickelodeon show “Victorious” and her voice gained people’s attention. We can’t forget vine either. So many memes came out of the app and Shawn Mendes, who is now one of today’s biggest stars, actually started out by posting small clips of himself singing songs like Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me”.

The question is, what will 2020 bring? The 2010’s were something that changed the world, to say the least. So much technology has come out during these past 9 years and so many social media apps. Social media apps like Instagram and Snapchat are so popular to this day, it’s kind of impossible to find someone who doesn’t use them. For many, the year of 2019 was one for growth. From moving on from an ex to being a better version of oneself, 2019 brought new and better things for people. It’s easier to become accepted in many places now days no matter what race, gender, or religion you are. Back in the days, there was so much judgement for being different than others and it seems like everyone is accepting and loving themselves and others for who they are, and not for who they pretend or want to be. Through out the decade many problems relating to having a different religion or skin color have happened, and hopefully 2020 will bring us the acceptance and love that some of us need.
