Throughout any school you go to there will almost always be that one student who just doesn’t seem to keep his or her grades up. Teachers have debated for a while about whether or not this is because students don’t understand the subject, or they’re just not applying themselves to the information given. While at school students have a choice. When you get into high school your grades and attendance all depend on you.

If you don’t show up to class every day your teacher won’t collect all your work, will email your mom to ask if you’re okay, or take time away from class to get you caught up. You have to become more mature in that way so you are prepared for the real world. If you’re not showing up to class, or you’re not doing any work, it’s all on you. In order for you to understand everything you need for school and to get good grades, you must apply yourself.

Applying yourself means that if you get a pre-test, study it; if you get homework you don’t understand, ask for help. Your grades almost 100% depend on you and your determination to learn. There will always be a class or two that we don’t like, that doesn’t mean you can just ignore it. Apply yourself and work hard in your class so that you end up loving to learn. Having a drive to learn every day you come to school will help you out in so many ways. Academically it will be easier for you to grasp onto new subjects and honestly just makes your day better.
