Coming off the loss to Westlake, Hunter had a shot to get momentum back against the West Jordan Jaguars and that is exactly what they did. The game started out a defensive battle, being 6-3 at the end of the first quarter, then 14-10 at halftime. West Jordan took a 24-21 lead going into the fourth quarter. Hunter took the lead back but West Jordan got all the way down back into the redzone and threw a pass into the end zone, that pass was picked off by Gideon Pauni. We drove down and scored again as time ended to get the 34-24 victory.

Quarterback Daisean Cash had a very good game. He completed 17 of 27 passes for 339 yards and four touchdowns (TD). He also had a rushing TD on eight carries and 24 yards. That’s his second five total TD game, with the first being against Clearfield week 2. The rush game was once again balanced. Saia Lomu lead the team with 13 carries for 42 yards, while Jordan Tupea had a team high 51 yards on 11 rushes. Nate Suaste had a HUGE game. He had nine catches for 208 yards, I repeat, 208 yards and 4 TDs. Wyatt Swanty had three catches for 55 yards, Taylor Savage had two catches for 31 yards. Saia Lomu, Jordan Tupea, and Xandre Hill all had one catch for 16, 12 and 17 yards. Overall, it was a great night offensively as we had a season high 456 total yards.

Defensively was also had a good game. We totaled four sacks coming from Lorenzo Tuaone, Latu Sotele, Taunu’u Brown, and Sousa Moea’i all had a sack. Gideon Pauni had the aforementioned inception on the final defensive drive. That was his first interception.

In week 5 we head to Granger to play in the Battle Of Da Ville.
