Summer drivers ed

Austin Jensen, staff writer

Hunter High School Summer Drivers Ed signups are going on right now. Registration began on March 19, 2018. If you want to participate you will need to go to the office and pay a $140 fee for the class. There will be no fee waivers since the Drivers Ed classes are over the summer and not during the school year. After you pay your registration you will want to go and pick up a State Handbook. Also, if you want an advantage over other students, it would be smart to go down to the DLD and take the test to get your permit. Getting your permit sooner will get you going on your road drives faster.

The classes begin Tuesday May 29, 2018 and will end Thursday June 21, 2018. Although it may take some time in July or August to finish up some of the road drives. This will depend on the students attendance and such. You may not miss more than 3 class periods. Each day you have class you will want to leave time open to drive on the range or on the road. You may not miss any of your scheduled road drives and you do not get to choose which days you have them on.

The time slots are from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM with four rang times @ 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with four range times @ 11:30 AM- 1:00 PM, and 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM with four range times @ 1:30 PM- 3:30 PM.

If you want to register for Drivers Ed over the summer and complete the course in 18 days you will want to go to the office within the next few days. Slots fill up fast so there is no certainty that you will be able to get into the class.
